Kasey Simmons is a 32 year old server at an Applebee’s in Texas. Simmons went shopping at a local grocery store on one of his days off. While he was inside the store, he noticed a woman who was noticeably upset.
The woman was shocked when Simmons approached her, told her she was beautiful and insisted she let him pay her $17 grocery bill.
The next day, Simmons was working a shift at Applebee’s. During his shift, he found a handwritten note left by a customer who only ordered a flavored water.
While reading the note, he realized the person who wrote this note was the daughter of the woman from the grocery store. He had no clue that the women whose groceries he paid for was mourning the anniversary of her husand's death.
“On one of the most depressing days of the year, the death of my father’s three-year anniversary, you made my mother’s day wonderful,” the note read.
Other than the note, the women's daughter left something else for Kasey, a $500 tip on a 37 cent bill.
Now, Kasey would like to meet the family to thank them.
You never know when "paying it forward" will come back to you. What are your thoughts?
