A Wild Leopard Fell Into A Well, But Then Someone Tried To Rescue It

Getting trapped in a well definitely wasn't part of this leopard's plan.

On Tuesday, this leopard wandered into a village in the Indian state of Maharashtra, likely on the hunt for water.

"The leopard was in a state of panic and had to be rescued immediately," said Dr Ajay Deshmukh at the Manikdoh Leopard rescue centre.

"There are a large number of open wells in the area and most don't have proper nets, increasing the risk of wild animals getting trapped inside them," said Ramesh Kharmale, forester, Junnar division.

In the case of this animal rescue, villagers in India had to find out a way to save this leopard from an open well.
